Mission
Our mission is to empower and support Black and Brown mothers through compassionate, culturally competent, and community-based doula care. We are dedicated to reducing disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes by providing personalized, holistic support that honors the unique experiences and needs of our communities. Through advocacy, education, and continuous emotional and physical support, we strive to create a nurturing environment that promotes health, wellbeing, and positive birthing experiences. We believe that every birthing person deserves dignity, autonomy, and access to high-quality care. By centering Black and Latina birthing bodies, we aspire to be a catalyst for systemic change, fostering a future where maternal health disparities are eradicated, and all families in Lawrence thrive.

Vision
Our program aims to bridge gaps in maternal healthcare by providing continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We strive to cultivate a network of well-trained doulas who are deeply embedded within the communities they serve, promoting trust, respect, and mutual understanding. Ultimately, our vision is to transform the childbirth experience in Douglas County into one of safety, dignity, and joy. Through collaboration with healthcare providers, community organizations, and families, we are dedicated to nurturing a culture where every birth is honored and every parent is supported on their journey to parenthood.
